The Five-Step Process: Buyer Preparation

January 26th, 2009

Step One: Pre-Approval

The first step is getting pre-approved with a loan officer. You will learn what your mortgage options are and discover what type and how much of a loan to apply for. This will allow us to confirm that we are shopping for a house at the right price for you.

Step Two: Pre-Approval Letter

We will want a pre-approval letter from the loan officer to show the home Seller that you are a serious Buyer. This will give you an edge over other Buyers.

Step Three: Questions

After this, I will ask you a series of questions that will help determine my level of involvement in assisting you with your move.

Step Four: Wants and Needs

Then we will review your wants and needs, such as number of rooms, bathrooms and location, so I understand exactly what you are looking for.

Step Five: Home Delivery

I will then sign you up for John L. Scott Home Delivery and Property Tracker, which will email both of us every time a new listing enters the market that matches your criteria.

Before we move forward I want to reiterate that I will listen to your needs and guide you through the process to a successful home purchase. In return, I would like for you to commit to hiring me as your agent.

I have included a Buyer’s Agency Agreement and Letter of Commitment that I would like to go over with you. This agreement is for a period of 6 months and it states that when we find the right home for you, that I will represent you in the sale and that I do not represent the Seller.

Let’s get started!
